Strictly speaking, Awards are recognition handed out annually. In that process, we also encounter Nominations. Nominations are an Award in their own right.
On the AWS website, Awards carry a bit more weight because they actually represent three types of achievements. Firstly, the Award / Nomination (which belong together), secondly the Certification (the qualifications Gold, Platinum, Multi-Platinum, or Diamond), and thirdly reaching the #1 position on an important Chart.

In the dataset we are currently working with, there are a great many songs that have achieved all three. An incredible achievement, which immediately makes it clear that these songs deserve special attention.
We call these songs Premium Songs. You are going to encounter this a lot.
Diamond 💎
Another category that deserves attention are the songs that have sold more than 10 million copies. Diamond, in other words. This group is quite exclusive because not many artists have achieved this. You can also say of this category: these songs deserve special attention.
